Meet the Instructor: Holly Moffit

Naturopathy meet the instructor natural health

Naturopath, clinic supervisor, mentor. These are just a few of the hats the Endeavour Short Course instructor, Holly Moffit wears. Holly lives and breathes natural health and clearly loves what she does (which is a lot!). We take a few minutes with Holly to find out a bit more about her journey, what she loves about her job and garner some key nuggets of advice from her.

Can you tell us a little bit about your background before joining Endeavour?

I graduated with a Naturopathy degree in 2009 and have enjoyed a solid decade in private practice whilst also gaining experience in the retail sector, product development and media publications. I have also participated in national speaking tours and am featured in newspapers, magazines, books and a documentary.

What made you decide to pursue a career in natural health?

It was a simple choice for me. As a teenager I was fascinated by all things alternative and healing and began my Bachelor straight out of high school.

What do you do at Endeavour?

I am a Supervisor in the student clinic in Brisbane. I also contribute learning content to many Short Courses.

What is the most rewarding thing about your job?

Walking alongside people as they achieve their goals or stumble along the way. To be a trusted ally in someone’s healing journey is second to none.

What motivates you?

I am motivated by many little inspirations, so I make sure to set up my days and weeks with variety. Taking time to learn and experience new things is a must for me.

Is there a piece of advice you can share with people interested in pursuing a career in natural health?

Get really clear on your why. And the energies that lead up to you feeling this way, so that you do not lose sight of this. Maintaining your curiosity and spark is a must.

What’s one piece of wisdom that you apply to your career?

It is actually a concept based on slow living and that is ‘tilting’. It is a slant on balance that opens it up to move around projects or seasons. Maybe you have a busy writing season and don’t get a whole lot of exercise. Then the deadline finishes and you can focus more on movement and sunshine. This view on balance works really well for me.

Which short courses would you recommend to people pursuing a career in natural health?

I would start with any course that sings to you as a person. These courses are designed to educate but also implement. By starting to make changes to your own life you are better equipped to help clients in making their own changes.

Can you share a career highlight?

I love public speaking and I have had a few chances to speak to crowds reaching the thousands. Nothing beats that for me.

What’s the most memorable experience or moment you’ve had at Endeavour?

At the end of each clinic block we have a party, connect, share what we have learned, reflect with one another and have the bittersweet moment of farewelling our seniors. Every clinic block is wonderful.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I dress up as an elf with my daughter, take trips to the forest or beach and immerse myself in music.
