Eating disorders, like Anorexia nervosa, Bulimia nervosa and Binge eating disorder, alongside disordered eating, orthorexia and body dysmorphia, are significant concerns for many Australians. Learn to identify the early warning signs and understand how these disorders develop. Examine protective factors to help you or others avoid them and what support services and treatments are available to overcome them.
In this short course, gather the tools to support yourself or others with an eating disorder. You’ll cover six core topics, beginning with an overview before looking in more detail at some of the most common eating disorders. You’ll also consider the social side of eating disorders, unpack stigmas, identify positive and negative influences in society, and learn how and when to seek support.
