A people person from the start, Glashie Qudsia turned her natural passion into a commitment to helping others reach their potential. For the past 16 years, Glashie has been working as an educator and mentor in the vocational training field — helping university graduates with Australian workplace and employability skills.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am an enthusiastic trainer and educator with a strong commitment to people development and leadership. I firmly believe that people need to be engaged in both formal and informal opportunities to prepare them for any inevitable situation.

My passion is helping others to grow and develop their potential by identifying opportunities, providing encouragement and focusing on their goals, to bring out the best in them.

And how did you get into the career you’re in now?

Since childhood, I was called a people person by my friends. I have always been able to build a productive team by using effective communication skills. I have never imagined being a trainer or a mentor until one of my colleagues motivated me to join the vocational training industry. It has been very rewarding 16 years since I am in this amazing industry, and many more to come.

What is the most rewarding thing about your job?

Achievements of my learners, team, and clients.

What motivates you?

My biggest motivation comes from the curiosity to learn more, share more, and simplify the complexity into simplicity. I am passionate and determined to inspire people around me to build a network of sharing knowledge without any boundaries.

Who inspires you?

My family, friends, and students.

What’s one piece of wisdom that you apply to your career?

Dream big, work hard, and be persistent

Can you share a career highlight?

Doing what you love, fill your days with memorable highlights. Receiving ongoing recognition from past graduates via messages and calls fill my days with energy and passion to carry on. Being able to connect and learn from wonderful networks and professionals has allowed me to bring real-life practices to my training, coaching and mentoring.

Who would benefit from doing these short courses?

Entrepreneurs, leaders, managers, students, and all those who are keen to learn.

What makes these short courses so useful?

In the world of complexity, we are all seeking simple tools and techniques to give us clear direction in making our lives and roles easier. Short courses are realistic and structured in a way that they allow us to pick the right technique to solve the problem we are facing at any point in time.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to travel, play the guitar, and sing in my spare time.
